                                                                                     Special people ?

Picture

Blind and other disabled people often fair badly in Romania's impoverished society
and are usually unable to live independent lives. They frequently end up in institutions,
living in poor conditions and are seldom able to go out, even for a walk in the park. Imagine
living in a Transylvanian castle set on a bleak mountianside. This is Dumbravni. Inside the
castle it is bare and damp, the corridors are wide and long, there is very little heating and
it feels most unwelcoming. Visually impaired children are often abandoned into institutions
with little or no prospect of any other life.
