Statement of Beliefs and Aims
We as Christians, accept the truth revealed to us in the Old and New Testament
scripture of Gods word. We accept the faith set before us in the Gospels, and we
regard the doctrines put there as the understanding of the Christian faith. As a
result we will experience mutual Christian love, practical Christian service, and
evangelical concern. We accept the sovereignty and grace of God the Father, God
the Son and the Holy Spirit in creation, providence, revelation, redemption and
final judgements. We believe the Old and New Testament Scriptures to be of divine
inspiration and consequently in its entire trustworthiness and supreme authority in
all matters of faith and conduct. We accept the universal sinfulness and guilt of
fallen man, which makes him subject to God's wrath and condemnation, and
believe in the substitutionary sacrifice of the incarnate Son of God as the only and
complete ground of redemption from the guilt and the power of sin, and from all
its eternal consequences. We believe that, as sinners, we are justified solely by the
grace of God though faith in Christ crucified and risen from the dead. We believe
in the illuminating, regenerating, indwelling and sanctifying work of God though
the Holy Spirit. We accept the priesthood of all believers, and that they form the
universal Church, with Christ as the Head of this body of believers, who He has
commanded to be committed to the proclamation of the Gospel throughout the
world. Therefore we live in the expectation of the personal visible return of the
Lord Jesus Christ, in power and glory. As a result of these beliefs, our aim is to
share God's love and concern by action, word, and deed, particularly among those
who are visually impaired. So that they are able to overcome this as a barrier to
finding a personal faith in Christ and to living a fulfilled Christian life.
